The complex of government buildings in Dublin were completed in March 1922, and were occupied immediately by the new Irish Free State government, after they achieved their goal of freedom. The incredible complex of buildings can be seen from afar but are better experienced close up.
Guided tours of the buildings occur every Saturday from 10.30am to 1.30pm, and occur every hour at half past the hour. You can expect to spend around 40 minutes travelling in and around these magnificent buildings, with an expert tour guide who will inform you of the history of the area. The tour times are subject to change.
Tickets to the buildings are absolutely free and can be picked up on the morning before the tour. Visit the National Gallery after 10am, and the tickets will be available to you, as advance booking is not permitted.
