See the grand Palace of Versailles

Posted on 16th March 2012 by

As well as being known as the city of love, Paris is also known for having many incredible historical monuments. The Palace of Versailles is just one of the many incredible historical places in France, and it’s perfect for history fans. Located roughly 20km out of Paris city centre, it’s pretty easy to get to – and it’s certainly worth the journey. The palace was once home to political powers and royalty, including Marie Antoinette and Louis XIV.

One of the most famous parts of the palace is the Hall of Mirror. In here, that are 17 arches with more than 350 mirrors that reflect out onto the stunning gardens surrounding the palace. The room was once the background for papal blessing and politic gatherings with other leaders. It’s certainly an incredible sight, and even more amazing when you stand there and experience it. The architecture, paintings and stunning rooms make it well worth the visit.
