Built in the early 20th century, Prague’s Municipial House is a spellbindingly beautiful Art Nouveau building that boasts a concert hall, art gallery and selection of eateries. With much of the building’s interior designed by the famous artist Alfons Mucha, anyone with a faint interest in art will be left in awe at what Municipal House has to offer.
At the very core of the building is Smetana Hall – an intricately decorated venue that hosts some of the most prestigious balls and concerts in all of the Czech Republic. There are also a number of smaller halls for you to look around, many of which offer cultural exhibitions at specific times of the year. For a quick break midway through your visit, why not enjoy a coffee at the Art Nouveau café or grab a bite to eat at the popular Pilsen restaurant?
Municipal House is open daily from 10am to 6pm, and guided tours around the building can be booked in advance at an additional cost.
