Learn about taxis in Rome

Posted on 17th March 2012 by

Taking a taxi in Rome is a great way to get to your destination quickly, as long as you’re not travelling very far. It’s obviously the most direct route to your destination, and with so many taxis around, you shouldn’t have a problem finding one. You should, however, consider some things.

First off, you need to know that the prices for taxis are quite high. As well as the tip, the prices for even nearby places can be quite expensive. So whilst they are a really easy way to get to your destination, you should first consider your other options (walking and public transport).

Whilst you may feel more comfortable getting a taxi directly to your destination, remember that if you want to travel long distance, then the underground Metro is a better option. You will be able to travel further much quicker and much cheaper. Just consider these things before you get in a taxi!
