Cut Yourself A Slice of Prague: Czech Food and Where to Eat it

Posted on 11th March 2012 by

Czech food is traditionally hearty and wholesome – well-suited to those who belong to intense manual fields of work. Some of the most common foodstuffs include bread and potato dumplings, roasted duck and baked pork. In terms of vegetables, cabbage, onion and tomato are the most popular, with the former being a staple ingredient in the diets of many locals.

If you decide to sample Czech food during your stay in Prague, there are several well-established restaurants and cafés that you should consider visiting. These include U Sadlu in the New Town and La Degustation Boheme in the Old Town, the latter of which is an expensive eatery offering an immersive dining experience.

One of the most popular drinks in Prague is beer, with the Czech variety being more bitter than what most people are accustomed to. Coffee is another popular beverage, brewed in the traditional Turkish way and served in cafés and breweries across the city.
