When you go to a restaurant, do you take absolutely ages to decide what you are going to order? If so, then you are going to find the Frantzen-Lindeberg more than a little different. This tiny restaurant only seats 19 and can be found in Stockholm’s Gamla Stan (Old Town), and it’s not the size of it that makes this place stand out from the rest.
The owners’ philosophy is to use whatever raw materials are in season at any given time so they are not tied to creating menus. Instead, they create magnificent dishes with the best ingredients, including gourmet choices, such as hundred year old balsamic vinegar, to give you a meal that you will remember for ever – and the only thing that you get to choose is the number of courses you would like.
Everyday, there are intense discussions with the producers of these ingredients – the growers, fishermen, livestock producers and wine makers before the dishes of the day are decided upon, which means that every time you pay a visit, you’re in for a wonderful surprise.
