Getting the bus in Dublin is usually the best way to get around the city. Obviously, you will be able to walk to the places near your hotel, but if you’re planning on travelling to some of the many attractions and sights in the city, then you should use the bus system. Buses run very frequently in the city, and you can pick up bus maps and guides from shops and information points all over the city. They’re really easy to use just like in many other cities, and are also relatively inexpensive.
You should do your best to stick to the bus network instead of paying an extortionate amount of cash on taxis. This is particularly relevant if you are travelling alone, as you will not be able to split the costs of the taxi with your friends. You should easily be able to get used to the bus networks, but if you’re struggling, just ask tour guides and people at your hotel. You’ll no doubt figure it out!
