Rent a bicycle and explore Paris

Posted on 16th March 2012 by

One of the best ways to experience the city is to borrow a bicycle from a rental company.  Since 2007, the city has taken steps to allow tourists and residents to get through the city on bicycles with ease. There are more than 150km of bike lanes that allow you to travel on the roads in safety. They are sometimes shared with buses, but the roads are perfectly safe.

Literally everywhere in Paris is accessible by bicycle, so renting a bike is great. You will have to pay an initial fee for your bicycle, and the first half an hour of riding is free. After that, however, you will be charged for every 30 minutes that you use the bike. With more than 1,200 bicycle stations around, however, you should have no trouble finding somewhere to leave your bike!

Riding a bike through Paris is really rewarding. You are not paying over the odds for travel and you will get to see the city on your own watch. It’s perfect!
