Immerse yourself in Stockholm's gay bars

Posted on 16th March 2012 by

Although there may not be a definite gay district within Stockholm, the city is brimming gay and lesbian clubs and bars, all with a relaxed and friendly atmosphere.

Go and experience what is arguably considered to be the best Gay Pride celebration in the world with a trip to participate in Stockholm Pride, a festival that has been running since 1998 and is still going strong. Rejoicing in the freedom that gay rights have brought to people everywhere, this is one hell of a party that you won’t want to miss.

If you’re looking for more of a singular night out than a weekend-long gathering, then head down to Södermalm and Gamla stan, where you will find a wide range of rainbow cafés, as well as some fantastic bars and clubs that are gay and lesbian friendly. Take a trip downtown, or visit Kungsholmen, which is well known for its buzzing night life.
