Experience Istanbul’s incredible Grand Bazaar

Posted on 18th March 2012 by

If you want to experience real, traditional shopping in Istanbul, then you can’t pass up the chance of visiting the famous Grand Bazaar. Bazaars are one of the most common ways to shop in the country, and the Grand Bazaar is an incredible market. It’s actually Turkey’s largest covered market, offering a wide range of products that the locals and the tourists can benefit from. Whether you want to purchase some beautiful Turkish carpets, pottery, brassware or even leatherwear, you’ll find everything that you could possibly need in this incredibly cultural, pretty and buzzing bazaar.

There are roughly 4,000 different shops in this huge market – so you’ll never get bored! Every shop is a little different, but they’re all just as charming. It’s a great place to visit if you want to meet some of the locals, too. The Turkish locals tend to be chatty and happy people, and are always willing to help if you’re looking for something in particular. So give it a go and see what bargains you can find!
