Arce de Triomphe: One of the most famous landmarks

Posted on 16th March 2012 by

If you want to sightsee in Paris, then one of the best places to visit is the Arc de Triomphe. The Arc was built by Napoleon the first, and was initially created as a symbol of victory for when he returned from war with his troops. The Arc was also a part of his efforts to make Paris into the most beautiful city in the world, and it certainly did its job. The monument is renowned all over the world for its size and the incredible amount of detail on it.

Upon visiting, you will have the chance of travelling up its 280 steps to reach the top, and from here, you’ll see a stunning view of the whole city. It also stands in the centre of one of the biggest roundabouts in the world, and you’ll see all the busy traffic circulating the monument. Standing at the top really does give you an incredible view of the city.
